On July 12, 2021, the summer school “Cyber
Camp – 2021” was launched at the “Bilgah” Recreation Center of the State
Security Service (SSS). The main purpose of the event, which will last until
July 17 and involve well-known trainers, is to select pupils with fundamental
knowledge and practical skills in programming, operating systems, social media
platforms, robotics and instill in them cybersecurity skills from young ages.
First, the participants of the camp visited
the Alley of Honors, paid tribute to the memory of the founder of modern
Azerbaijan, National Leader Heydar Aliyev, and laid flowers at his grave.
The opening ceremony of the summer school “Cyber
Camp – 2021” held in the assembly hall of the Recreation Center was attended
by the head of the State Security Service, Colonel-General Ali Naghiyev,
Assistant to the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan - Head of the
Department of Economic Affairs and Innovative Development Policy of the
Presidential Administration Shahmar Movsumov, Minister of Transport,
Communications and High Technologies Rashad Nabiyev, Minister of Education Emin
Amrullayev, Chairman of the State Agency for Public Services and Social
Innovations under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ulvi Mehdiyev,
Director of the “E-GOV Development Center” Fariz Jafarov, members of the board
and heads of departments of the SSS, participants of the youth camp aged 12-15
and their parents.
The event began with the commemoration
of the memory of the heroic sons of the Motherland, who sacrificed their lives
for the independence and territorial integrity of the Republic of Azerbaijan,
with a minute of silence, followed by the national anthem.
After the SSS officer in charge of the
relevant field provided detailed information about the camp, welcoming the
participants, the head of the SSS, Colonel-General Ali Naghiyev, stressed the
importance of the event, noting that cybercrime is one of the main threats to
the national security of countries, which in turn increases the demand for
highly qualified personnel in the field of cyber security. The head of the
service expressed confidence that the summer school “Cyber Camp – 2021” will
increase the knowledge and skills of our youth in this field, which is under
the special attention and care of the country's leadership, and will play an
important role in their future development as cybersecurity specialists, and wished
success to the participants.
Speaking about the reforms in the field
of information technologies in the country Colonel-General Ali Naghiyev stressed
that cyber-attacks conducted by enemy forces during the 44-day Patriotic War carried
out under the leadership of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan,
Supreme Commander-in-Chief Mr. Ilham Aliyev, were resolutely prevented together
with other relevant government agencies within the framework of the information
struggle.
Speaking at the event, Assistant to the President
of the Republic of Azerbaijan - Head of the Economic Affairs and Innovative
Development Policy Department of the Presidential Administration, Shahmar
Movsumov noted that as a result of the unprecedented efforts of the President
of the Republic of Azerbaijan Mr.Ilham Aliyev, there are comprehensive
opportunities to increase the intellectual level of our youth, and expressed
confidence that young participants will successfully apply the knowledge and
skills gained in the cyber camp for national interests.
Minister of Transport, Communications
and High Technologies Rashad Nabiyev, Minister of Education Emin Amrullayev and
Chairman of the State Agency for Public Services and Social Innovations
under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ulvi Mehdiyev noted in their speeches that the
holding of such events makes an important contribution to the growth of
knowledge and outlook of adolescents, and lays the foundation for them to grow
up as worthy and perfect citizens of Azerbaijan in the future. It was also highlighted that our state
has all the conditions for the development of education and the successful
realization of the potential of young people, and large-scale state programs
and projects are implemented in this direction.
It was noted that due to the mutual
and effective relations established with the relevant government agencies, an
effective fight against cybercrime is being carried out in our country, and the
necessary measures will be taken in this direction.
Expressing confidence that the
participants will take full advantage of this opportunity created for them, the
guests thanked the organizers of the event for organizing the summer school “Cyber
Camp - 2021”.
Afterwards, a slide show on cyber
security was presented by the SSS officer in charge of the relevant field.
The event continued with panel
discussions on issues of interest to young participants, and online speeches of
specialists living abroad and working with leading companies in the field of information
technologies were heard.
Having been acquainted with the
exhibition of innovative technologies organized in the territory of the
Recreation Center, the participants watched a concert program prepared by the
Cultural Center of the SSS.
