An international scientific conference was held at the military hospital of the State Security Service

On March 15, 2022, an international scientific conference on “Modern approaches to the complex diagnosis of SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19)” was held at the military hospital of the Main Medical Department of the State Security Service (SSS). The event was organized by the Military Medical Department of the State Customs Committee and the Medical Service Department of the State Customs Committee. Representatives of these medical institutions, The Ministry of Emergency Situations, The Ministry of Health, The State Agency on Mandatory Health Insurance, The Administration of the Regional Medical Divisions (TABİB), Azerbaijan Medical University and the World Health Organization and the Florence Nightingale Group of Hospitals of Turkey also attended.

After a minute of silence in memory of the martyrs who died for the independence and sovereignty of Azerbaijan and the National Anthem, the conference attended by 120 qualified doctors in person and more than 350 doctors in an online format was opened by the speach of Chief of the Main Military Medical Department of the State Security Service, Major General of the Medical Service Rufat Aliyev who spoke about the importance of the conference, emphasizing that healthcare in our country is always covered by state care and the preventive steps taken to prevent the timely spread of coronavirus infection.

Then the floor was given to Major General of the Medical Service Jeyhun Mammadov, Chief of the Medical Service Department of the State Customs Committee. He, in turn, stressed the importance of holding an event on this topic, spoke about the effective organization of the fight against COVID-19 in the country, the availability of the necessary opportunities for proper and timely laboratory diagnosis of infection, said the conference is an important platform for exchange of experience and ideas.

Nadir Zeynalov, Deputy Minister of Health, Rashad Mahmudov, Deputy Chairman of the Health Committee of the Milli Majlis, and Yagut Garayeva, Head of TABIB's Strategic Development Department, spoke at the event. They spoke about the formation of the pandemic in accordance with the requirements, noting that the country has successfully passed this test, and noted that the population has been successfully vaccinated, and the existing material and technical base of the health sector is improving day by day.

The event was followed by a discussion of the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic and its new strains on the epidemiological situation in the country, its impact on the human body and its consequences, laboratory diagnosis of the infection, analysis of tests during the disease, study of Turkish experience and other related topics. Participants' speeches and panel discussions on important issues continued.

At the end of the event, the participants expressed confidence that the conference will make significant contributions, and stressed the need to hold such events on a regular basis.
