Man secretly collaborating with the enemy exposed

The State Security Service continues comprehensive counter-intelligence measures to detect and prevent threats to the national security interests of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the intelligence – subversive activities of foreign special services.

Mammadov Emil Ramiz oglu, a citizen of the Republic of Azerbaijan, born in 1981, has been identified as a suspect in high treason case.

According to the investigation substantial suspicions have been established about Emil Mammadov`s meeting with the Armenian special services in a third country in exchange for a financial interest in order to assist them in carrying out the tasks of foreign special services to the detriment of the sovereignty, territorial integrity, security of the state and the protection of the Republic of Azerbaijan, acting in accordance with the instructions, following the instructions on the requirements of the confidentiality and secrecy with the special services of Armenia.

Emil Mammadov was prosecuted under Article 274 (high treason) of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Azerbaijan and arrested on the basis of a court decision.

An investigation is underway.
