A person who distributed video materials related to the Armed Forces of the Republic of Azerbaijan was brought under investigation.
On March 17th, 2025, video footage of the movement of military equipment belonging to the Azerbaijani Army was distributed in the foreign segment of social networks, claiming that measures were taken to allegedly conduct military operations on the state border of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
A criminal case was initiated in connection with the fact at the State Security Service of the Republic of Azerbaijan, and as a result of the preliminary investigations it was determined that the published video footage dates back to February 27th, 2025.
It was established, that Rustamov Samad Bahman oglu, a citizen of the Republic of Azerbaijan, born in 2007, recorded the movement of military equipment belonging to the Armed Forces of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the territory of the Gadabay district on February 27th, 2025 and shared this video material, the distribution of which is prohibited by law, on his page on the “TikTok” social network on March 15th, 2025. After that, it was determined that various news reports that did not reflect the truth were displayed on social networks as a reference source by adding video footage from different periods to those videos.
Taking urgent measures Samad Rustamov was detained and brought under investigation, and the mobile phone he used to record those videos was seized as a material evidence.
It is once again stated that the recording and publication of video footage related to the military units of the Azerbaijani Army, their dislocation, movements, combat and mobilization training, weapons, and military equipment on the Internet resources, including through social networks, constitutes criminal liability, and legal measures provided for by law will be taken against those who commit such acts.
