President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev: “The fight against corruption and bribery in Azerbaijan is carried out not in words, but in deeds. The people appreciate this struggle. I receive thousands of letters from citizens. They welcome my actions, while at the same time direct my attention to certain questions. I am glad that recently the mechanism of public control is acquiring a more organized form. 

I applaud this. There are cases of corruption and bribery in all countries. The main question is from what prism the state and the government approaches these cases. There is zero tolerance on these issues in Azerbaijan, and I think that the work we have done confirms this. Not only the heads of local executive bodies, but also the heads of central executive bodies have been held accountable, and these cases are widely covered. The public should be aware of all the work done, while my recommendations on the appointment of people are already available to the public”.
